Based on the curriculum provided for the diploma courses and its relevance to the current trends in the field of computer engineering and the specific learning environment of Government Women’s Polytechnic College, Thrissur the following program specific outcomes were framed for the computer engineering department. The aim of any country’s higher education system is sustainable development and achieving higher growth rates. It is enabled through creation, transmission and dissemination of knowledge. The Govt. Women’s Polytechnic College, Thrissur, is the only Women’s Polytechnic College in Thrissur District and one of the pioneer Institutions in the field of Technical Education. Being an institution dedicated to the empowerment of women, it has been serving the people of this land for the past 55 years, since its establishment in 1962. Located at Thrissur, the cultural capital of Kerala, many students who passed out from this institution have achieved great heights in their personal life and have also brought glory to the nation with their contributions. This Institution since its inception has been working with its mission of developing and promoting quality technical education to Women in Thrissur and nearby districts of Kerala. This Institution provides quality Technical Education to Women and thereby empowers them to achieve great heights in their personal life. Our alumni have brought glory to the nation with their contributions in various fields. The college is situated 5 kilometers away from Thrissur town towards the south in the Irinjalakkuda /Kodungallur route.

PEOs - Computer Engineering

  • PEO-1: Excel in professional career and / or higher education by acquiring knowledge in the area of Computer Science and Engineering.
  • PEO-2: Prepare to be employed in IT industries and be engaged in learning, understanding, and applying new ideas.
  • PEO-3: Able to design and evaluate appropriate systems to provide solutions in Computer related field that are technically sound, economically feasible and socially acceptable.
  • PEO-4: Mould responsible computer Engineers with professionalism, ethical attitudes, communication skills, self-learning and team work in their profession.

Program Outcomes (POs)

  • Basic knowledge: An ability to apply knowledge of basic mathematics, science and engineering to solve the engineering problems.
  • Discipline knowledge: An ability to apply discipline - specific knowledge to solve core and/or applied engineering problems.
  • Experiments and practice: An ability to plan and perform experiments and practices and touse the results to solve engineering problems.
  • Engineering Tools: Apply appropriate technologies and tools with an understanding of the limitations.
  • The engineer and society: Demonstrate knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legaland cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to engineering practice.
  • Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge and need for sustainable development.
